Senior Acoustic Consultant
Job Description
Senior Acoustic Consultant
Derby
Competitive Salary (£40,000 - £45,000)
My client, an established environmental consultancy with a strong presence across the acoustics sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant with 5-10 years' experience to take a leading role across a diverse portfolio of UK and international projects.
This is an opportunity to take your experience further. You will lead on noise impact assessments, modelling, and reporting, oversee acoustic surveys and work directly with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams. Alongside the technical delivery, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the continued development of the consultancy's acoustic capabilities across its offices.
What's on offer:
- Competitive Salary (£40,000 - £45,000)
- Generous Annual Leave
- Exposure to UK and International Projects
- Flexible Working Hours
- Full or Part-Time Working Options
- Opportunities to contribute to the growth of acoustic capabilities
- Cross-Office Collaboration
As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality acoustic consultancy work from survey through to reporting.
Responsibilities of a Senior Acoustic Consultant include:
- Leading Noise Impact Assessments Internationally and across the UK
- Supervising Acoustic Surveys and Ensuring Robust Data Collection
- Developing and Managing Robust Noise Models
- Preparing Clear and Technically Sound Reports
- Liaising Directly with Clients, Regulators, and Multidisciplinary Project Teams
- Supporting Collaboration Across Different Offices
- Mentoring Junior Members of the Team
- Contributing to the Continued Development of the Consultancy's Acoustics Capabilities
Essential skills and experience
- At least five years' professional experience in acoustics
- Strong experience delivering noise impact assessments
- Experience with acoustic/noise modelling and technical reporting
- Confidence working with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience supervising surveys
- Strong communication and technical skills
- Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver high-quality work
Desirable skills and experience:
Experience working across international projects would be particularly valuable, as would a track record of developing acoustic capabilities, supporting cross-office collaboration, and mentoring less experienced consultants.
If you are an experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant looking for greater responsibility, international project exposure and the opportunity to help shape the continued development of an acoustics team, this could be an excellent next step for you.
