Process Engineer

Job Description
We're helping a growing advanced materials team hire a Process Engineer to support the scaleand#8209;up of their porous silicon anode technology. This role combines handsand#8209;on experimentation with process optimisation and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to bringing a new battery material into industrial production.

The Process Engineer will:
  • Design and run process development experiments to improve silicon synthesis and downstream processing.
  • Support scaleand#8209;up activities from lab optimisation through to pilotand#8209;scale implementation.
  • Analyse process data using modelling or statistical tools to optimise operating conditions.
  • Translate experimental and modelling insights into practical, scalable process improvements.
  • Document results, learnings, and contributions to technical reports or IP.
  • Collaborate with crossand#8209;functional teams across electrochemistry, materials characterisation, and product development.

The Process Engineer will have:
  • 2-5 years' experience in process chemistry, materials development, or chemical engineering.
  • Handsand#8209;on experience with materials synthesis or chemical processing.
  • Strong understanding of reaction chemistry, materials processing, or process optimisation.
  • Ability to analyse experimental data and draw clear conclusions.
  • Comfort working in a fastand#8209;moving R&D environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirables - It would be great if you also have:
  • Experience with process scaleand#8209;up or pilotand#8209;scale systems.
  • Familiarity with porous materials, silicon chemistry, or battery materials.
  • Exposure to process modelling, DOE, or statistical analysis.
  • Experience in startand#8209;ups or agile R&D environments.

If you'd like to play a handsand#8209;on role in scaling a nextand#8209;generation battery material and enjoy solving real engineering challenges, we'd be happy to share more. Please get in touch or send over a copy of your updated CV.
