Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum (pro rata)

Job Description

The role of Family Fee Earner involves providing comprehensive legal support and advice to clients on a range of family law matters. The position demands an individual who is organised, client-focused, and able to manage a varied caseload efficiently. This role is based in Sunderland and requires part-time hours, offering flexibility while maintaining a commitment to high-quality legal service delivery. This role is to join a well established team as the role is only 3 days per week the candidate will be office based.

Job Duties
  • Manage a caseload of family law matters including but not limited to divorce, child arrangements, financial settlements, domestic abuse cases, and adoption.
  • Conduct client interviews to gather relevant information and provide clear, accurate legal advice tailored to each client's circumstances.
  • Draught legal documents such as pleadings, agreements, court applications, and correspondence.
  • Prepare cases for court hearings, including collating evidence and liaising with barristers and court officials.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve the most favourable outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with regulatory and firm standards.
  • Keep abreast of changes in family law legislation and case law to ensure advice remains current and relevant.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a seamless client experience and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes.
  • Manage billing and fee-earning responsibilities efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
Required Qualifications
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a current practising certificate relevant to family law.
  • Completion of the Professional Skills Course or equivalent professional development.
Experience
  • Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience working within family law.
  • Proven experience in managing a broad range of family law cases independently.
  • Experience of client interviewing and case management from inception to completion.
