Qualifications: 18th Edition, AM2, 2391 (or equivalent)
About the Opportunity
Rock Recruitment is working with a well-established client to recruit skilled, self-employed domestic electricians to join their network of contract engineers. Their customers rely on them for safe, high-quality electrical work exactly when they need it, and you'll play a key part in delivering fast fixes and high standards of electrical safety in customers' homes.
The Role
As a contract Electrician, you'll carry out a varied mix of domestic work, including:
- Fault finding and repairs
- Installations and upgrades, such as replacing kitchen sockets
- Electrical connections to gas appliances and points
- Full and partial rewires
- Emergency 24- or 48-hour callouts
- Scheduled works
- EICR testing and EV charger installation, where relevant to the job
You'll combine strong technical skills with excellent customer service, diagnosing issues efficiently, aiming for first-time fixes, and giving customers clear, professional advice. All work must be safe, compliant and right first time.
What You'll Need to Provide

- Appropriate insurance cover (e.g. public liability)
About You
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified electrician, ideally in domestic settings
- City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent), including the Level 3 Technical Certificate and NET AM2
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
- BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (City & Guilds 2382, 18th Edition)
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) for inspection and testing: highly desirable
- Specialist EV charger certification: desirable
- Flexibility to cover emergency callouts and scheduled work
